Private pickleball tournaments are a rewarding way to build team chemistry, allow people to rediscover their competitive side, and have fun on the court. At The Pickle Lodge, we love nothing more than facilitating tournaments of different sizes and formats. Take a look below and let’s talk about what fits best for your group.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We are pickleball experts. We provide the courts, paddles, balls, software, and tournament organization, ensuring that you can focus on getting your group together and getting them excited for what’s ahead.
TOURNAMENT FORMATS
While there are a myriad of tournament formats, these are the most popular for groups of all different sizes:
- Timed Ladder
-
-
- In ladder play, the “top” players start at the top of the ladder while the newer players start at the bottom. Playing in timed rotations rather than to a predetermined point total, all players start and end play at the same time. When they win, players move up the ladder, giving them a chance to play better competition each time they move up.
-
- Fixed Partner or Blind Date Round Robin
-
-
- In Round Robin play, participants are broken up into pools, with each team playing every other team in their pool. Then, the top teams in each pool “cross over” to play the top teams in the other pool. Ultimately this results in Gold, Silver, and Bronze finishers, commonly with prizing differentiated across all three spots on the podium.
- Robin Robin play can either be Fixed Partner, in which players register together, or Blind Date, in which players are matched on the spot.
- Teams are seeded into pools based on their experience level.

- Parent/Child

- The Parent/Child format is a coed tournament that pairs parents and kids (of all ages) in either a Round Robin or Ladder structure. Teams are seeded into pools based on their experience level.
