Jeannie Johnson

Jeannie’s pickleball journey started back in 1999, when her friend first introduced her to the game. It wasn’t long before she was hooked. Six years into playing regularly, her love for competition, activity, and new friendships keeps her coming back to the court time and time again.

A PPR-certified instructor, Jeannie brings both experience and enthusiasm to every lesson. She’s a proven competitor, with tournament wins at Sawyer Point, 5 Seasons, Courtyard, the PPA event at the Lindner Center, and The Pickle Lodge—earning medals in both 3.5 and 4.0 divisions. Her teaching experience spans across local facilities and she also runs popular clinics alongside fellow instructors Jackie and June.

Jeannie especially enjoys working with beginners and intermediate players, as well as leading corporate events that get everyone laughing, learning, and moving. Her favorite skills to teach include the third shot drop and partner strategy—two areas where teamwork and precision meet. Students can expect a positive, fun environment and a teaching style that’s clear, memorable, and easy to apply right away.

For Jeannie, pickleball means so much more than competition—it’s the perfect post-retirement adventure. After a successful career in industrial sales, she’s found a new purpose helping others fall in love with the sport. It’s added joy, energy, and connection to her life, giving her the chance to meet incredible people, stay active, and celebrate progress—both her own and her students’.

One of her favorite memories? Playing a late-night tournament at Sawyer Point, surrounded by friends in the stands. After hitting a backhand ATP to win the point, the crowd went wild—a moment she’ll never forget.

Jeannie is a certified instructor with the Ohio Pickleball Academy at The Pickle Lodge, where every session blends fun, focus, and friendly competition. Ready to train with Jeannie? Click here to book a lesson and click here to view our upcoming clinics.
