How to Get Started Playing Pickleball at The Pickle Lodge

At The Pickle Lodge, we believe you should only join when you're ready to fully embrace your pickleball journey. That’s why you don’t have to be a member to play or learn here.

Instead, we recommend starting slow—get a feel for the game and how often you’ll be playing before committing to a membership.

Once you're hooked, we’ll help you pick the best membership to maximize both your savings and your access to the courts.

Open Play is the heart of The Pickle Lodge. It’s where players of similar skill levels come together for friendly games and community fun. But how do you know you’re ready? Here’s a quick checklist:

  1. Know how to keep score: Scoring can be tricky at first, but it’s essential for smooth play.
  2. Understand kitchen rules and violations: Learn the do’s and don’ts of the no-volley zone.
  3. Serve consistently (75% success rate): Confidence in your serve keeps the game flowing.

If you’re not quite there yet, no worries! Take your time, revisit Pickleball 1-0-1, or try any of our clinics designed to help you progress with the support of our certified team of instructors.
